Conflict Minerals: New Version of EMRT and CMRT Reporting Templates available

On 13 , May 2025 | In | By Monika Srubarova

The Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) has released updated versions of two key reporting templates used for responsible sourcing and supply chain due diligence: the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) version 6.5 and the Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT) version 2.0. These updates are important for companies working to meet legal, customer, and ESG requirements related to mineral sourcing.

CMRT 6.5 is now available and includes the following update:Updated Smelter Reference List reflecting the most current verified information on smelters and refiners.

The CMRT is used to collect information on the use and sourcing of tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold (3TG) in accordance with Section 1502 of the U.S. Dodd-Frank Act and other responsible sourcing frameworks.

Access the latest CMRT 6.5 template, revision history, and guidance documents in English, Chinese, and Japanese on the RMI website.

EMRT 2.0 introduces several significant changes that expand its scope and improve its usability:

  • Addition of four new minerals: copper, graphite (natural), lithium, and nickel.
  • New “Mine List” tab added to enhance transparency and traceability.
  • Updated Smelter Reference List and Standard Smelter List.

We recommend that all suppliers and partners transition to the latest versions of these templates in preparation for upcoming due diligence cycles. Ensuring the use of up-to-date templates helps maintain compliance with current regulatory frameworks and supports transparency in global supply chains.

Navigating supply chain compliance is becoming increasingly complex. At 1cc GmbH, we support manufacturers and suppliers in meeting regulatory, customer, and ESG requirements with confidence. Whether you're just starting or looking to strengthen existing processes, training your team, or completing operational support, we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
