From 1 April 2021, the use of symbols and markings on packaging that may lead to confusion regarding sorting will be sanctioned in France. This is specifically in connection with the use of the Green Dot licensed by Dual Systems. 

For products manufactured or imported before 1 April 2021, corresponding transition periods or a maximum storage period of up to 18 months will apply from 1 April 2021. In the event of non-compliance, penalties equivalent to at least the recycling fee will be imposed.

Moreover, as of 1 January 2022 the harmonized Triman logo will be mandatory on all products subject to the extended producer responsibility (e.g. also electrical appliances, batteries, non-recyclable packaging).
