Important requirement due to Elektrogesetz Germany 2022

On 27 , Aug 2021 | In | By Julia Feuring

The electrical law changes on 01.01.2022 (ElektroG3).

We particularly emphasize the §7a take-back concept. In the future, a manufacturer with B2B customers will have to present a take-back concept for all types of equipment that it registers.

The take-back concept contains information for end users on how the take-back obligations are managed. The take-back concept is a mandatory requirement for the EAR Foundation to process registration applications from 01.01. To be decided positively in 2022.

The take-back concept must contain the following information:

  • Declaration on the establishment of return facilities for waste electrical equipment
  • Name and address of any third party commissioned (take-back system of a service provider, e.g. TBS).
  • A description of how the waste owner can access the return options.

Registered manufacturers must subsequently submit their take-back concept within a period up to June 30th, 2022. So there is no need to fear that the registration will expire immediately in January. Nevertheless, it is advisable to take action before June 2022.

We will be happy to identify the need for action with you and help with the changed registrations.
