The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published the new REACH Candidate List on 19 January 2021. Two Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) were added to the list due to their toxicity on reproduction.
The Candidate List of substances of very high concern for Authorization now contains 211 substances.The newly added substances are used in products, such as inks and toners or to product plastics and rubber tyres. Companies must follow their legal obligation and ensure the safe use of these chemicals. From January 2021 onwards, companies also have to notify ECHA if the articles in their products contain substances of very high concerns. This information has to be provided through the ECHA´s SCIP database.
