Sustainability with substance: 1cc undergoes the EcoVadis assessment

On 18 , Aug 2026 | In | By Mona-Fee Kienle

Sustainability is increasingly becoming a concrete business requirement for companies. Customers, business partners and international supply chains expect transparent processes and robust evidence.

As a consultancy specialising in environmental and sustainability issues, 1cc supports companies in putting these requirements into practice. Our guiding principle is this: we apply to ourselves the same standards we recommend to our clients. That is why we have had our own sustainability performance assessed by EcoVadis.

What EcoVadis assesses

EcoVadis is an internationally recognised sustainability rating system used particularly in the B2B sector and within supply chains. Four areas are assessed:

  • Environment

  • Labour and human rights

  • Ethics

  • Sustainable procurement

Unlike traditional ISO certification, EcoVadis does not certify a management system. Instead, a company’s sustainability performance is assessed on the basis of defined criteria and supporting evidence.

This is becoming increasingly important for businesses. Sustainability criteria are being incorporated more and more frequently into procurement processes, tenders and supplier qualification procedures.

Applying our own standards

For 1cc, the EcoVadis rating is a logical step. We are familiar not only with the requirements of a rating, but also with the practical task behind it: structuring existing processes, identifying gaps and efficiently compiling the necessary evidence.

That is why our aim is to create structures that work in the long term.

Continuously developing sustainability

With the EcoVadis rating, we are creating additional transparency for customers and business partners and further developing our own sustainability strategy.

For us, the rating is not an end in itself. Our aim remains to understand regulatory and market requirements at an early stage, translate them into efficient processes and embed sustainability permanently within the company – both for our customers and for ourselves.
