An organization that rids our oceans from plastic waste](https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/en/oeoo-an-organization-that-cleans-our-oceans-from-plastic-waste) On 19 , Dec 2023 | In | By Alisa Maier [![](https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Blog%20Post%20EN-1.jpg?width=550&name=Blog%20Post%20EN-1.jpg)](https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/en/oeoo-an-organization-that-cleans-our-oceans-from-plastic-waste) Christmas 2023 is just around the corner. We would like to take the opportunity this festive season to thank our partners and customers for the trust they have vested in us and for the fruitful cooperation. Instead of Christmas gifts this year, we decided to support an organization that is tackling one of the biggest environmental problems - plastic waste in our oceans. As of today, there are already more than 150 million tons of plastic waste in the world's oceans. More than one million seabirds and other marine life die every year because of plastic waste, mistaking it for food, getting entangled or strangled. Plastic waste will not disappear but eventually turns into microplastics in the form of very small particles. This microplastic enters our food chain via fish, for example. It is therefore very critical for all living organisms and there is an immediate need for action. [“OEOO” (One Earth - One Ocean e.V.)](https://oneearth-oneocean.com/en/) is a German organization that has developed a concept for "[maritime waste disposal](https://oneearth-oneocean.com/en/the-solution/the-maritime-disposal/)" to rid the world's waters of plastic waste. It collects plastic in coastal and estuary areas with special waste collection ships and sorts it according to type. The plastic waste is then recycled on a waste recycling ship. Ultimately, this ensures that plastic waste is removed from nature before it breaks down into microplastics. The recycling operation results in heating oil, unmixed plastic bales and energy through thermal processing. The organization has already received several prizes and awards for its concept and has been using it successfully in various waters for over 10 years. Together with our sister company [TechProtect](https://www.techprotect.de/en/home-2/), we would like to contribute to this cause and decided to forgo gifts and Christmas cards this year and instead donate the sum we raised through our "[Miles for Smiles](https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/en/miles-for-smiles-a-fundraiser-organized-by-the-4sr-sport-club?hsLang=en)" team event to "OEOO”.  We are very pleased to be able to make a contribution to cleaning the world's oceans and inland waters of plastic waste, oil and chemicals. We wish you a peaceful and relaxing holiday season and a healthy and successful 2024! *Your 1cc Team* [![Share on facebook](https://7528309.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/7528309/hubfs/raw_assets/public/mV0_d-web-default-modules_hubspot/img/facebook-color.png?width=24&name=facebook-color.png)](https://www.linkedin.com/company/2355686/admin/) [![Share on linkedin](https://7528302.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/7528302/hubfs/raw_assets/public/mV0_d-web-default-modules_hubspot/img/linkedin-color.png?width=24&name=linkedin-color.png)](https://www.linkedin.com/company/2355686/admin/) [![Share on twitter](https://7528304.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/7528304/hubfs/raw_assets/public/mV0_d-web-default-modules_hubspot/img/twitter-color.png?width=24&name=twitter-color.png)](https://twitter.com/1cc_consulting) [![Share on email](https://7528311.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/7528311/hubfs/raw_assets/public/mV0_d-web-default-modules_hubspot/img/email-color.png?width=24&name=email-color.png)](mailto:info@1cc-consulting.com) ### Archives - [June 2026 (8)](https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/en/archive/2026/06) - [May 2026 (6)](https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/en/archive/2026/05) - [April 2026 (7)](https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/en/archive/2026/04) - [March 2026 (12)](https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/en/archive/2026/03) - [February 2026 (7)](https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/en/archive/2026/02) ### Subscribe to our blog and never miss news again [Imprint](https://1cc-consulting.com/en/imprint/)     |     [Privacy Policy](https://1cc-consulting.com/wp-content/uploads/datenschutz_en.pdf)     |     [Data Processing Agreement](https://1cc-consulting.com/wp-content/uploads/1cc_Data-Processing-Agreement.pdf)     |     [AGB](https://1cc-consulting.com/wp-content/uploads/1cc_GTC.pdf)     |     [1cc Reporting Tool](https://reporting.1cc-consulting.com/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2F)     |     [1cc Compliance Data](https://asp.selltec.de/go/onecc/home/community_login,l-en.html?_login_redirect=true)     |     [4 Square Return](https://4square-return.com/en) ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "BlogPosting", "author" : { "@type" : "Person", "name" : "Alisa Maier", "url" : "https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/en/author/alisa-maier" }, "dateModified" : "2023-12-19T12:52:11.287Z", "datePublished" : "2023-12-19T12:52:11.000Z", "headline" : "\"OEOO\" - An organization that rids our oceans from plastic waste", "image" : [ "https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/hubfs/Blog%20Post%20EN-1.jpg" ], "mainEntityOfPage" : { "@id" : "https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/en/oeoo-an-organization-that-cleans-our-oceans-from-plastic-waste", "@type" : "WebPage" }, "publisher" : { "@type" : "Organization", "logo" : { "@type" : "ImageObject", "url" : "https://blog.1cc-consulting.com/hubfs/Logo/1cc_Logo_RGB_freigestellt.png" }, "name" : "1cc GmbH" } } ```
