Implementing demo programmes efficiently: How the process works.

Products are most convincing when customers experience them for themselves. This is where demo programmes come in: prospective customers can test a product under real-world conditions before making a purchase decision. For manufacturers and suppliers, however, this can quickly become a complex process: from registration and verification, through dispatch and the test phase, right through to return and reconditioning. We map out the entire demo process in a structured and end-to-end manner.

Tailor-made planning rather than a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach

The first step is to design the programme. Together, we define the objectives and target audience, the eligible products, the test duration, the quantities and the campaign areas. The preferred return process – such as collection or self-drop-off – is also specified. In addition, a bespoke campaign website is created, through which end customers can register for the demo programme.

Automated checks for efficient processes

Following registration, the relevant product, contact, delivery and, where applicable, company details are transferred to the TechProtect system. The system then checks the order against the previously defined criteria.

Depending on the programme, checks such as blacklist checks, VAT ID checks or duplicate checks, as well as checks on eligibility, address and other customer-specific criteria, can be integrated. The result determines whether an order is automatically approved, manually checked or rejected in accordance with the defined rules. This reduces manual effort whilst creating a controlled, traceable process.

From dispatch to the test phase

Once an order has been successfully approved, an available demo product is allocated. The device and accessories are checked, prepared for transport and dispatched to the end customer. The dispatch status and handover are documented.

During the defined test phase, the system monitors the timeframe. Reminders and relevant information can be sent automatically; additional support can be provided if required.

Return and preparation for the next use

The process does not end once the product has been tested. Depending on the agreed arrangement, the device is either collected from the end customer or returned by them to a designated return point.

Once the goods have been received, we inspect the product and its accessories, document their condition and functionality, and carry out cleaning and, where necessary, technical refurbishment. Any damage or missing parts are recorded. The product can then be released for its next use.

This is how a seamless demo management process is created from many individual process steps.
